Howdy,

I suspect that most of you, (by now) know that I am challenged with a little lung disease they call Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. It’s has kind of a catchy ring to it don’t it? Currently, I have about 32% lung function left and I will begin a grueling four days of tests to see if I can get on the transplant list. OY.

In an effort to raise $2,500.00 which will be matched and provide $5,000.00 to fund research for Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency to the Alpha 1 Foundation, I am looking to sell 100 (or more)of my CDs at $25.00 each plus $3.00 p/h. The check can be written out directly to the Foundation, but sent to me and I will send the CDs out. It will be a tax deductible donation. The cost for the drug therapy I take is...are you ready? Around $100,000.00 a year....just for me. My insurance is $1800.00 per month. Have help with all of this because of the Foundation.

The Foundation pays money to all sorts of organizations that help folks with various things like insurance, patients rights on airplanes with O2, in Washington and they are hard at work looking for the cure. There is another arm of the Foundation called AlphaNet which puts folks with the disease to work right in their homes helping others with Alpha1. HA! How many places do that?

The Foundation was started by John Walsh, a very passionate man who suffers with the disease.

I won't be touring any longer due to health challenges with my lungs combined with the big expense of travel and so little work for my genre of music. I've really enjoyed the past 10 years of so traveling and playing music. I've enjoyed meeting every one. Now I'm re-focusing my musical attention on more teaching, my work in church, writing and whatever comes up locally.

I will travel from time to time, but it will be for short trips and only when all expenses are paid.
